Australian Sports Commission takes the disc golf challenge

The Hobart office were keen to show their Victorian colleagues one of Hobart’s sporting treasures, so they spent an afternoon at Poimena Reserve in Austins Ferry, playing the oldest disc golf course in Australia.

Discology’s Richard Sampson ran a short disc golf skills clinic for the staff followed by a mini competition on the front 9.

Richard’s comment “the Australian Sports Commission’s Hobart office has been very supportive of our efforts to develop disc golf in Greater Hobart, it was great to help them out and also introduce them to the sport and the Poimena course first hand. The Victorian staff were extremely impressed with the course and the sport. It was encouraging to hear such positive feedback about disc golf from professionals who deal with sport and physical activity in the community on a day to day basis.”
